One of Robert Adam's most noteworthy creations, dating mainly from 1777, though an earlier tower is incorporated in the structure - Comprising the castle group are the following -
Westward extension, 1875-8, architects Wardrop and Reid, replacing the Adam brewhouse - terraced walls to south and east of castle -
Late Victorian fountain in centre of fountain court.
Dolhin Arch at head of causeway, early 19th century -
