Wallingford Castle is an impressive stone motte and bailey fortress, found by Robert D'Oyley. Built in the Norman layout of two baileys, with the motte in-between, it was demolished in the 17th century, leaving the 16th century Collegiate Church of St Nicholas, its most prominent remains.
